Volunteer Board Director
All trustees share responsibility for ensuring a charity is well-run, complies with the law, and works to achieve its charitable purposes. Working collectively, the board provides oversight, accountability and strategic leadership to help guide the organisation’s long-term direction. Within the board, specific roles carry additional responsibilities that support effective governance and decision-making. Trustees also play an important role in supporting the CEO, providing guidance, challenge and oversight while helping to shape and deliver the organisation’s strategic vision.
Key Responsibilities:
- To support the governance of MCFB in alignment with its constitution and current best practices in Board Governance
- To attend Board meetings once a quarter and the Annual General Meeting (AGM) once a year.
- To keep organisational policies up-to-date in line with current legislation and guidance
- To support the CEO in management of institutional issues
- To guide the strategic vision of the organisation together with the CEO
- To sit on at least one of the Board sub-committees. Sub-committees support the board by focusing on specific areas of governance and operations.
