We wanted to have a space where we clarify the terms we use and why we use them! For other vocabulary you might hear us say or write, go to our acronym and glossary guide.
Language evolves, and so do we! We have moved away from using the term “BAME” in favour of “ethnically diverse” because we recognise that broad acronyms can overlook the richness, individuality, and distinct experiences of different communities. We are committed to using language that is inclusive and shaped by ongoing reflection and conversation.
Multi-Cultural

Where everyone is respected and valued because of their background! People of different ethnicities, languages, faiths, and more can come together to learn from and grow with each other.
Family

At MCFB, we believe families can be all shapes and sizes! Two parents and two kids, single parent with one child, grand-parent helping care for grand-children; we value all types of families.
Base

Like a home, a base is a foundational location. A base is somewhere people feel safe, but is also somewhere from which you can explore, adventure, and grow!
