In memory of Wendy Paterson

It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the death of such a beloved friend of MCFB, Wendy Paterson.

She died on 1st May with her family at her side.

Wendy had been a driving force and committed supporter of our organisation from the very early days in Smith’s Place, before the move to Coburg Street. Her generosity of time, knowledge, expertise and wisdom was endless, but, moreover, her gentle caring approach and readiness to listen were truly invaluable.

Nothing was ever ‘too much’ for Wendy and over the years she nurtured, mentored and guided students, staff and Board colleagues in equal measure, bringing her immense experience in Social Work and Practice Education to the benefit of MCFB.

For over ten years, Wendy worked tirelessly as Chair of The Board, having already contributed so much as a regular member and Vice-chair.

She always tried hard to visit Coburg Street as often as she could, to talk to staff and students, and nourish them both emotionally and physically…taking treats for the kitchen table!

The gap that Wendy leaves and the impact she made are vast, and we will miss her very much.

She was an inspiration and a very dear friend.
