Dalia is the project worker for the Safe Haven project. She’s half Italian and half Syrian, and has spent several years working across Europe’s external borders — in France, the Balkans, and Greece — providing humanitarian support to people on the move and advocating for the rights of refugees and people seeking asylum. She originally studied Philosophy and Literature before pursuing further studies in Human Rights Law. Her working experience has focused on building communities as a means of creating solidarity and using storytelling to challenge misinformation and help diverse voices be heard and celebrated. Outside of work, Dalia loves creative writing, enjoying live music, and having a good laugh — and she’s always on a mission to improve her Arabic!
