DESCRIPTION:Join Equally Safe University of Edinburgh and Bright Choices to deepen understanding of honour-based abuse and ways to support students.\n\n\n\n\nJoin Equally Safe University of Edinburgh and Bright Choices MCFB for an expert-led session designed to deepen understanding of ‘honour’-based abuse and its impact. This introductory session will introduce what ‘honour’-based abuse is\, the challenges students may face\, and how to spot the signs. We’ll also cover key legislation\, including Forced Marriage Protection Orders\, safe questioning techniques and practical steps for supporting students. \nBright Choices MCFB provides specialist support in Edinburgh for individuals affected by ‘honour’-based abuse. Equally Safe at the University of Edinburgh offers confidential support to students who have experienced or are experiencing gender-based abuse or violence. \nThis event will take place on Teams and and attendees will receive the joining link by email closer to the event date.
